KITE is thrilled to be one of the featured architects in Modelo’s Design Manifesto series. The interview offered Principals Albert Garcia and Christine West an opportunity to offer an insight to our thinking and unique approach to architecture. We are also excited to use Modelo’s new collaborative tool that will allow us to engage our clients in the design process like never before!
Everyone at KITE Architects is excited about the 2015 Providence International Arts Festival, and especially the Dean Avenue Activisual Experiment. Along with other artists, we’ve been asked to create a usable chair/artwork for the lounge during the Festival (June 13 noon-9pm) at a special event location outside The Dean Hotel. We’ve taken the opportunty to create a collage reminiscent of fabric from all of the different details, renderings, and other drawings we made while working on The Dean. After the event all the chairs will be sold, so claim this unique piece while you can!
KITE is proud to be a sponsor of the Providence Preservation Society’s Festival of Historic Houses on June 13, 2015. A long-standing annual tradition in Providence, this year it offers a glimpse into fascinating historic homes in Providence’s Fox Point neighborhood. To celebrate, we have gathered many of our projects to tell their unique and sometimes surprising preservation stories.
Often sold to capacity, make sure to buy your tickets in advance at the Festival website.

…and has even charmed local architecture critic David Brussat!
KITE is proud to have helped TRAC Builders with interior design to retrofit the Eco-office at 28 Wolcott Avenue as their new headquarters.
Developed orginally by John T. Jacobson as a high-performance green building, KITE’s challenge was to preserve the airiness and beauty of the original interiors while accommodating the needs of TRAC’s growing business.
KITE chose a palette that reflected the original building’s black, white, and wood, and placed modular glass walls to define a new conference room used for regular collaborative sessions and private offices within the high-volume space. Ample natural daylight and sense of space prevail.
